Engineering Team Extension — 3 AI-Augmented Developers + Tech Lead, 6-Month Engagement

A FinTech SaaS company had a committed product roadmap and a six-month delivery window — but their internal engineering team was stretched across two concurrent streams and could not absorb additional scope. They had been through two rounds of failed traditional recruitment, and could not afford another 3-month hiring cycle. They needed productive engineers within the week, not the quarter.

Within 4 days of the initial brief, three AI-augmented developers and a part-time tech lead from CompCode Solutions were embedded in the client's team — attending their standups, contributing to their Jira board, and deploying to their staging environment. No interviews, no notice periods, no onboarding drag.

AI Tooling Impact

Our developers used AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Copilot) to generate test suites, write API documentation, and review each other's PRs — tasks that previously sat in a backlog waiting for capacity.

Tech Lead Role

Our tech lead ran weekly architecture reviews, authored ADRs for three significant design decisions, and provided technical briefings to the client's CTO — 2 days per week, not 5.

4 days From brief to first PR merged
3 features Shipped in first sprint
40% Faster delivery vs solo internal team
On time Roadmap delivered at 6 months

The engagement extended beyond the original 6 months at the client's request. Two of the three developer slots were converted to ongoing managed maintenance contracts. The AI-augmented approach meant the team produced comprehensive documentation throughout — so the handoff to a new internal hire at month 9 took one week, not one month.

Options Flow Signal Platform — 6-Agent LangGraph Pipeline

A financial services firm's options analysts were spending 4+ hours per signal cycle manually aggregating NSE market data, running technical analysis, interpreting options flow, modelling scenarios, applying risk filters, and publishing signals for trading desks. The process was slow, inconsistent between analysts, and impossible to audit retrospectively. Regulatory review of signal rationale was a manual, time-consuming process.

Six specialised LangGraph agents in a Supervisor-Worker pattern, orchestrated by Temporal.io for durable execution:

MarketData Agent NSE feed ingestion, normalisation, schema validation
Technical Agent RSI, MACD, VWAP, support/resistance levels
OptionsFlow Agent IV rank, PCR, open interest interpretation
Scenario Agent Bull/bear/neutral scenario modelling with probability
Risk Filter Agent Confidence threshold gate + HI Authorization escalation
Publisher Agent Signal distribution + audit log + Streamlit dashboard
30 min Signal cycle (was 4+ hours)
100% Audit trail coverage
Zero Missed HI approvals
Analyst capacity freed

The HI Authorization gate — implemented via Temporal Signals with a 4-hour human review SLA — caught 12% of signals in the first month as requiring analyst review before publication. Zero false positives were published during that period. Regulatory review now takes 20 minutes with the full structured audit log, compared to 2 days previously.

Multi-Tenant Document Processing — Adding AI Without Breaking Isolation

A B2B SaaS company with 500+ enterprise tenants needed to add intelligent document processing — extraction, classification, and workflow routing — to their existing Node.js platform. The constraints were severe: zero cross-tenant data leakage (contractually guaranteed), backward compatibility with existing API contracts, and no disruption to the existing event pipeline. Previous attempts by an internal team had failed when shared vector embeddings caused cross-tenant data exposure in testing.

Domain-Driven Design applied to agent boundaries. Each agent service was a bounded context with explicit contracts. The critical innovation was per-tenant vector store namespacing in pgvector — completely isolating embeddings at the database level, not the application level. Bulkhead pattern enforced resource quotas per tenant at the infrastructure layer.

Isolation Strategy

pgvector namespacing by tenant_id with row-level security. No tenant can query another's embeddings even via direct database access.

Outbox Pattern

All agent actions that produce events use transactional outbox — exactly-once delivery guaranteed, no dual-write race conditions in the existing event pipeline.

5 Agents deployed across 3 tenants in week 1
Zero Cross-tenant data leaks in testing
100% Backward API compatibility maintained
8 wks From scoping to production

A 200-case automated test suite — including specific cross-tenant isolation tests — was delivered alongside the agents and runs on every deployment. The isolation architecture was independently reviewed by the client's security team and approved without changes.

Internal Approval Workflow Automation — Supervisor-Worker with Shadow Mode

A large operations team processed 400+ internal approval requests per week — vendor onboarding, budget exceptions, access requests, and compliance reviews. Average turnaround was 3-5 business days due to manual routing, incomplete information in submissions, and approver availability. The leadership team wanted automation but were risk-averse: a wrong approval in the vendor onboarding category could create a compliance incident.

A Supervisor-Worker agent system with category-specific specialist agents, HI Authorization gates calibrated per request type, and a two-week shadow mode phase that ran before any autonomous action was permitted. The shadow mode comparison data built the statistical foundation for the confidence thresholds used in the HI Authorization gates.

Shadow Mode Design

Agents ran for 2 weeks alongside humans. 847 requests processed in parallel. Divergence rate tracked per category. Thresholds set based on observed human-agent agreement, not assumptions.

HI Gate Calibration

Access requests: 90%+ confidence → autonomous. Vendor onboarding: always HI gate. Budget exceptions: value-based threshold. Different blast radii → different gates.

Better Human review quality (full evidence chain)
Zero Compliance incidents post-deployment

The 20% of requests requiring human review now receive better-quality attention — approvers see a structured evidence chain, risk score, and agent reasoning, rather than a raw form submission. The approval team reported that human review quality improved even as volume dropped significantly. Six months post-deployment, zero compliance incidents attributable to agent decisions.

AI Document Intelligence — CompCode SaaS Product Deployment

A financial services company (name withheld) processed 2,000+ compliance documents per month manually — contracts, regulatory filings, and audit reports. Processing was slow, error-prone, and required specialist staff time for every document. Compliance misses carried significant regulatory risk.

Deployed CompCode's AI Document Intelligence product with HI-Auth review gates configured for high-risk document categories. The platform extracted, classified, and routed documents automatically — with human experts reviewing only the items the AI flagged as requiring attention.

AIOps Intelligence Platform — Reducing Reactive Incident Management

An enterprise SaaS company (name withheld) was experiencing frequent SLA breaches due to reactive incident management. By the time their on-call team received alerts, incidents had already escalated. Manual correlation across Datadog, PagerDuty, and CloudWatch meant root-cause analysis took hours.

Deployed CompCode's AIOps Intelligence Platform across their CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure as a managed service on the client's VPC. The platform surfaces anomaly signals before incidents escalate, and generates root-cause analysis summaries in plain language — with Human Intelligence Authorization gates on any automated remediation actions.

What We Observe

Patterns Across Every Engagement

Eval Pipelines Catch What Speed Creates

In every case, running eval pipelines from sprint 1 caught quality issues before they reached production. The time saved by skipping evals is always smaller than the time spent fixing degraded production agents.

Shadow Mode Always Surfaces Surprises

In all three cases, the shadow phase revealed at least one category where agent confidence was lower than stakeholders had assumed — leading to better-calibrated HI Authorization gates than pre-built thresholds would have produced.

Human Review Quality Improves

Across every engagement, the humans reviewing agent-escalated decisions reported higher quality reviews — because the evidence chain, confidence score, and agent reasoning gave them better information than traditional manual queues ever did.
